San Francisco-headquartered Generate Capital is understood to be readying the sale of a portfolio of gas peaking plants and battery storage in the UK.
The group is expected to bring the assets to market before the end of the quarter, with the disposal set to run through the summer.
The group is expected to seek a sale of around 60 MW of operational gas plants and a 30 MW / 60 MWh BESS in the final stages of commissioning, a spokesperson from the company confirmed to NPM.
Generate holds a mixed gas peaking portfolio in the UK, including the operational 20 MW apiece Moss and Salford sites in Bolton, Lancashire.
The group also holds the consented 18 MW Ashton scheme in Openshaw, Greater Manchester as well as the Streetfields project near Rugby, Warwickshire.
Another development that was initially planned to also become a gas peaking plant, and secured planning consent as such, is the Aldon project near Blackpool, Lancashire, although bids for the project have been made into the GB capacity market as a battery storage asset, according to data published by National Energy System Operator.
All of the projects were acquired from reserve power developer Stor Power at earlier stages of development.
Generate’s spokesperson also confirmed that Hannam & Partners has been appointed as financial adviser on the sales process, with the disposal set to launch over the coming weeks, subject to market conditions.
