Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners has relaunched the sale of its 51% stake in the 487 MW Monegros onshore wind portfolio in northern Spain, it is understood.
The group previously launched a sale of the holding in autumn 2025 but ultimately opted to refinance project debt first, with that process concluding in the summer.
The Danish investor subsequently last week began re-engaging with interested parties on the sale of the stake, according to market sources.
Denmark-based CIP, via its EUR 3.5bn Copenhagen Infrastructure III fund, originally reached financial close for the 12-project cluster in July 2020 having raised circa EUR 380m in 16-year debt from a six-lender club. It divested a 49% stake in the assets to Arjun Infrastructure Partners in Q1 2021, and brought them into operation over 2022-2023.
The sponsors subsequently completed an initial refinancing of the portfolio in Q1 2024.
The latest refinancing saw CIP and Arjun raise EUR 380m in fresh debt from BNP Paribas and Santander.
The portfolio is underpinned by a 10-year PPA with Endesa, with power sold to the utility at around EUR 38 / MWh – EUR 39 / MWh, according to market sources.
Credit Agricole is advising on the disposal.
