FINANCING: Ecoplexus secures USD 300m in debt financing with KKR

Ecoplexus recently secured USD 300m in debt financing with KKR, said sources familiar with the situation.

The financing will take out its existing USD 150m line of credit with New Energy Capital, while also upsizing its available credit line as it looks to build out its safe-harbored pipeline.

The company’s president and chief commercial officer Erik Stuebe told NPM in an interview this past June that it was in the process of commencing construction and/or safe harboring a pipeline of late-and-mid-stage projects in the US.

NPM Interconnection queue data is tracking 18 pre-operational projects, across 2.09 GW, which Ecoplexus is developing. This includes two projects, which reached an advanced stage in the past 12 months prior to May 2025, including 300 MW Willis Pond Solar in East Feliciana County, Louisiana, paired 150 MW Fresh Air Energy II project in Edwards County, Illinois.

NPM SIGNALS showed Ecoplexus executed its third amended interconnection agreement in June 2025 with Entergy Louisiana, which among other things, modified the commercial operation date to June 1, 2027 after initially forecasted to be ready by the end of 2024 under its second amended agreement.

Ecoplexus executed an IA with Ameren Illinois on Fresh Air Energy II in April 2024 which also forecast the project would be ready in June 2027.

KKR declined comment on the situation. Ecoplexus did not return calls seeking comment.
