Orrön Energy has distributed teasers seeking one or more long-term partnerships as part of its multi-site energy hub plans.

The Sweden-headquartered company has entered the German market with three energy hubs with a total capacity of 1.5 GW BESS, 1.25 GW of data centres and 500 MW of agri-PV, as confirmed by an Orrön Energy spokesperson.

The three hubs consist of:

  • Hub 1: 500 MW BESS, 300 MW Agri-PV, 500 MW data centre
  • Hub 2: 500 MW BESS, 200 MW Agri-PV, 500 MW data centre
  • Hub 3: 500 MW BESS, 250 MW data centre

A pipeline of an additional 10 hubs could be added to the transaction scope.

The process – reportedly dubbed “Project Shift” – could provide an investor with the opportunity to participate in a portfolio of large-scale and co-located infrastructure assets.

The projects are located in the north-eastern part of Germany, according to the spokesperson.

GreenCap Partners has been mandated as the advisor on the process.

Orrön Energy is said to be flexible when it comes to transaction structures, noting that bidders can also bid separately on specific parts of the portfolio. Investment size and the timeline of the process depends on market conditions and transaction structure, the spokesperson added.

The company is targeting a deal close in 2029.

Grid offers are expected to be secured by the end of November this year, according to a source.
