GERMANY: Trianel launches tender for twin BESS in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Brandenburg
Trianel has launched a competitive procurement process for the delivery and servicing of key battery storage components for two major projects in north-eastern Germany.
The tender, which covers two lots, seeks suppliers for the 19.25 MW / 40 MWh Rom I project in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and the 15 MW / 36 MWh Göhlsdorf II project in Brandenburg. Both sites are expected to begin construction in the first quarter of 2026.
The Rom I project will require core components including battery storage systems, inverters, transformer stations, and battery management systems as well as a power plant controller.
Technical specifications for the facility includes minimum apparent inverter power of 20 MVA at a 20 kV grid connection and a minimum of 9,500 cycles at a rate of 1.7 cycles per day.
The Göhlsdorf II project has a required inverter power of 17 MVA.
Both sites demand liquid-cooled battery containers with fire-retardant features, smoke and gas detection, and explosion protection systems.
Suppliers will also be required to commission all components and enter into long-term service agreements, including warranty extensions. These agreements are intended to guarantee long-term performance of the energy storage assets.
Estimated delivery is pencilled in for March 2026, with commissioning targeted for April 2026.
Requests to participate in the tender must be submitted by May 16 2025, and selected applicants will be invited to submit bids from May 30.
