GERMANY: WBS Power inviting offers for 500 MW BESS & solar PV development

WBS Power (formerly Projekt Solartechnik) is inviting offers for a 500 MW development-stage BESS project in eastern Germany, it is understood.

The scheme is located in Finsterwalde-Schacksdorf in Brandenburg and is believed to have secured a grid connection, although it is not yet fully consented.

The development also includes a 150 MW solar PV project and the option to develop a data centre, it is understood. The solar and BESS components are forecast to reach ready-to-build status by Q4 2025.

WSB is being advised on the “Project Jupiter” transaction by Capcora and PwC (both financial), who are understood to have launched the sale in March, with a request for non-binding offers by the second week of April.

The transaction is being offered on a co-development, forward sale basis for when the project reaches ready-to-build, according to market sources.

WBS Power was contacted for comment.
