IRELAND: GP Joule inviting offers for 200 MW-plus solar PV portfolio

GP Joule has put up for sale a consented circa 220 MWp Irish solar PV portfolio for which it will take non-binding offers later this week, it is understood.

The group, which is backed by German investor KGAL, launched the disposal of the 202 MWp Blackhall solar project in Meath and 16 MWp Clonioghan solar project in south-east Clare in late Q4 2025, with a request for indicative bids by Friday (January 16).

Both projects will also incorporate an element of battery storage, of 65 MWh and 10 MWh respectively, it is understood.

The schemes could generate revenue from either RESS or corporate PPA contracts, or a mix of the two. Both are awaiting final confirmation of grid offers over the coming weeks, it is understood.

The developer has indicated that both schemes could potentially reach financial close by Q1 2027.

KPMG (financial) is advising GP Joule on the “Project Royal” divestment.
