IRELAND: Nuveen Infra swoops for 93 MWp Gaskinstown solar project
Nuveen Infrastructure is understood to have acquired the operational 93 MWp Gaskinstown solar project in Meath, Ireland from Highfield Solar.
Two Nuveen directors were registered with the SPV which owns the project just before Christmas 2025, with Highfield Solar directors all exiting at the same time. Highfield Solar is a JV of ib vogt, Highfield Energy and Aura Power.
KPMG launched the sale of both Gaskinstown and the 106 MWp Rathnaskilloge solar project in Waterford on behalf of Highfield Solar in Q2 2025, as previously reported by NPM.
Highfield reached financial close for Rathnaskilloge in late 2023 and Gaskinstown in early 2024, with debt provided by Rabobank, and both plants are believed to have been commissioned early in 2025.
Both Gaskinstown and Rathnaskilloge secured 15-year RESS contracts in Ireland’s second RESS auction in 2022, a competition which resulted in average winning tariffs of EUR 97.87/MWh.
Senior debt for the plants is believed to have priced in the 160bps-180bps plus Euribor range.
Nuveen declined to comment. Highfield Solar did not respond to a request for comment.
