LITHANIA: Litgrid launches 200 GWh twin wind PPAs
Lithuania’s electricity transmission operator, Litgrid, has launched a competitive procurement process for the supply of electricity generated from wind farms, with contracts together covering up to 200 GWh annually.
The procurement is structured into two lots, each for up to 100 GWh per year. Suppliers may bid for one or both lots, and separate contracts will be awarded for each.
The contracts are expected to commence on November 10, 2025 and will run for a duration of 130 months.
Tenders must be submitted by June 30, 2025.
The procurement is part of Lithuania’s broader strategy to reduce environmental impact through green public procurement. The tender documents specify that electricity must be generated from wind energy sources, and suppliers must meet national security and environmental compliance standards.
Tenderers are required to submit a EUR 100,000 bid security and, if successful, provide a EUR 500,000 contract performance guarantee.
The evaluation of final tenders will be based solely on price, with no allowance for alternative offers.
