M&A: Asterion eyes Retelit data centre disposal

Nomura has been mandated to explore options for the data centre arm of Asterion Industrial Partners’ Italian telco business Retelit GroupNPM understands.

Options could include the full sale of the data centre business, resulting in a valuation of up to EUR 700m, according to sources.

Teasers have not yet been distributed and the process is earmarked for a September launch, sources added.

Active infrastructure investors are expected to be interested in this transaction but specific names are yet to be revealed.

NPM is currently tracking 20 Retelit data centre projects across its database.

In March of this year, the Italy-based company secured a EUR 375m financing package for its data centre division, with the Generali Investments-backed Infranity committing EUR 175m as the lead financier.

The capital was raised to support the expansion of existing data centres as well as the development of new sites.

Asterion and Nomura declined to comment when contacted, while Retelit did not respond to a request for comment.
