Longroad Energy Partners acquired the 2.8 GW paired Amargosa project in Nye County, Nevada, according to a recent investor presentation from one of their investors Infratil.
The project is comprised of 1,600 MWdc solar PV generation and 1,200 MWac/4,800 MWh battery energy storage capacity.
NV Energy specifically launched a request for proposals in late 2024 seeking proposals for a power purchase agreement (PPA) or a build-transfer agreement on the site. Leeward Renewable Energy had done some original permitting work on the project, but the Infratil presentation does not disclose whom the project was acquired from.
The project, expected to COD between 2030-and-2031, is expected to generate run-rate EBITDA of USD 240m.
The project is currently expected to be in regulatory review with the Public Utility Commission of Nevada (PUCN) and the US Department of Interior through early 2027, and then targeting securing financing for the project in 2028.
NPM data initially indicated the projects would be in two phases-Amargosa East and Amargosa West.
Longroad did not return calls seeking comment.
