UNITED KINGDOM: Elements Green backs Envirotech’s Bolney BESS development
The project, which was consented by the local council in 2024, will connect into the nearby existing Bolney substation on the transmission network.
The project is understood to have been included in National Energy System Operator’s (NESO) new grid queue project pipeline published on December 8.
The asset was previously allocated connection dates starting from October 2027, according to data published by NESO.
Elements Green’s involvement in the project should provide firepower to progress the scheme at least towards it construction stage, or even beyond. It is not yet confirmed whether the group will ultimately take an equity stake in the asset.
The company is also developing a substantial wider pipeline of BESS in the UK, spearheaded by the 360 MW / 790 MWh Staythorpe scheme in Nottinghamshire for which it reached financial close in July 2025 with Goldman Sachs before bringing Universities Superannuation Scheme into the structure more recently.
Envirotech and Elements Green were approached for comment.
