UNITED KINGDOM: Voltalia sells 50 MW Kent solar project to Elm Trading

Voltalia has divested the consented 49.9 MW Bockingfold solar PV project in Tonbridge Wells, Kent to Elm Trading.

The French IPP submitted a planning application for the Bockingfold Farm, Maidstone Road, Horsmonden-located scheme in autumn 2022 and secured the green light from the local authority, subject to conditions, at the end of the same year.

London-headquartered Elm Trading completed the acquisition of the project on December 16 2024.

Voltalia had initially aimed to start construction on Bockingfold in early 2023, according to its website. The company subsequently secured a 15-year Cfd at a strike price of GBP 47/MWh (in 2012 prices) for the project in the UK’s fifth allocation round for CfDs later in 2023.

Once online, the development will feed energy into the local DNO grid via an on-site point of connection.
