DG TRENDS: Dimension, Generate, ENGIE and Nexamp most active in May

May 2023 marks the first full month of NPM's coverage of DG opportunities at a local level and the result is over 190 separate projects appearing in public records across the country. Each month we'll be providing you with a summary of activity identifying the top states, counties and developers from the previous month.

New York was again the most active state with 41 opportunities identified across 16 counties. Illinois (26), California (17) and Massachusetts (17) were also active this month. In total, there were 25 states and 116 counties mentioned amounting to 190 separate opportunities. Stephenson, IL (6), Los Angeles, CA (6), Onondaga, NY (5) and Onedia, NY (5) were hot spots of activity this month.

In total 75 developers were identified across the 25 active states with these developers appearing most frequently:

• Dimension Renewable Energy

• Generate Capital

• ENGIE North America

• Nexamp

The increased scope of NPM’s DG coverage has resulted in a pop in overall activity from 86 DG opportunities tracked in April 2023 to 190 in May. Year-to-date there have been 403 DG opportunities tracked (895 MW).
