ROMANIA: 4P Renewables advances BESS pipeline; solar project sales also near completion

4P Renewables is progressing development work on a pair of 60 MW / 120 MWh Romanian battery storage projects which are set to reach ready-to-build over the course of 2025.

The group’s most advanced BESS scheme is located in Cluj county, central Romania, has already secured land and grid, and is anticipated to secure construction permits for both the project itself and the 110 kV underground cabling over Q1 2025.

Its second 60 MW / 120 MWh BESS project is located in Brasov County and is anticipated to reach RTB by Q3 next year.

4P has a further 100 MW / 200 MWh BESS project which is in the mid-stages of development, while it is also advancing a circa 670 MW Romanian solar and onshore wind pipeline.

The group - which is owned by three founder shareholders - will look to sell some of its projects once they reach RTB, whilst retaining ownership of others through construction and operation.

The group has already lined up the forward sale of 88 MW and 50 MW solar PV projects which are forecast to reach RTB by the end of 2024 for example, to publicly listed, international entities.
