UK: Schroders Greencoat acquires Nottinghamshire solar + storage project from Lightsource BP
Schroders Greencoat has closed a transaction to acquire the operational 49.9 MW Tiln Farm solar project and accompanying 25 MW / 50 MWh battery storage site in Nottinghamshire, England from Lightsource BP.
The projects, which were energised in February 2024 and include the first UK BESS site developed by the seller, changed ownership last week, according to company records.
The solar component required a capex of GBP 40m to construct, according to Lightsource, and will sell 50 GWh of electricity each year to UK-based building products supplier Forterra under a 15-year corporate PPA.
The site was the first to be built by the developer featuring so-called n-type TOPCon modules which are designed to improve efficiency.
Schroders Greencoat has concluded the Tiln Farm acquisition a matter of weeks after it confirmed the addition of another 110 MW trio of UK PV plants from Metlen Energy & Metals.
Meanwhile, Lightsource last week announced a 500 MW development partnership in Germany with Kajoni Energie.
Schroders Greencoat and Lightsource were both contacted for comment.
