ASSET SALE: VSB Energy to offload 60MW Italian solar project

VSB Energy is understood to have put up for sale a 60MW ready-to-build solar PV project in southern Italy.

The Partners Group-backed German developer and IPP launched the sale of the Catania, Sicily located scheme in late January and will take non-binding offers on February 23, according to market sources.

The scheme is projected to be built on either a merchant basis or supported with a PPA, with construction potentially able to start by mid-2024.

RTB Italian solar PV projects are currently fetching price tags in the region of EUR 160,000/MW – EUR 200,000/MW, according to market sources.

VSB is being advised on the sale by Valecap (financial) and DLA Piper (legal).

VSB did not respond to a request for comment.
