GERMANY: NBOS due for 200 MW-plus European Energy operating onshore wind portfolio

Denmark-based developer and IPP European Energy will take non-binding offers for a circa 223 MW portfolio of its most mature operating German onshore wind assets on Wednesday (October 16), it is understood.

The group in September started circulating teasers to investors regarding the sale of the 10 plants that make up the German wind portfolio, as previously reported.

The schemes are largely located across the centre and central north parts of the country, range in size from a 4.3 MW one Enercon-turbine project in Nordrhein Westfalen to an 11-turbine, 79.2 MW scheme in Sachsen-Anhalt, largely comprise Vestas turbines, and are understood to be set to be ready for repowering over the next couple of years.

The portfolio is likely to be of interest to investors such as Qualitas Energy, Cube Green Energy and NextWind, all of whom have a focus on the repowering of older operational onshore wind farms, among others.

Permitted onshore wind farms in Germany are understood to currently be achieving valuations of up to EUR 500,000/MW to EUR 600,000/MW.

Augusta & Co (financial) is understood to be advising European Energy on the “Project Phoenix” sale.
